EVE Online is one of the hardest MMOs to cheat at, and attempting EVE Online cheats is a surefire way to get your account shut down and your characters nuked. There are two primary methods of doing EVE Online cheats. The first is buying ISK (the in game currency) offline and having it transferred to your account. However, CCP cracks down on this hard; they track the accounts of known ISK sellers (and look for “mining bot” operations that these people use to generate the currency that they sell…and then penalize the players who buy the ISKs by rescinding the transferred money and then hitting them with punitive in game fines – this can result in an account balance that’s negative – and negative by a couple of million to a couple hundred million ISK.

This is part three of my three part series on making ISK in EVE online. Trading can be the most difficult of the three professions that I’ve listed, but it can be the most rewarding as well. It is something you take your time with, to watch the markets, and to pounce when a deal is present.

* One: In trading, you want a cargo ship of course. Usually people think the bigger the better, well, yes, but not right at first. There are some ships that can carry hundreds of thousands of cargo units. That is a little large for the beginning trading entrepreneur. A smaller cargo ship should be enough to carry what you can afford to buy, and sell somewhere else for a higher amount.

* Three: In trading, you must have ISK to make ISK. If you don’t have a lot a ISK to start with, you can trade, but it’ll take you a while to make more ISK. Whereas mining or missioning could make ISK faster, you could do either of those until you make some capital to invest in trading.
* Four: Sell your cargo space. You see an item that’s selling for 150 ISK in your system, and a jump away someone is buying for 200 ISK, make a quick 50 ISK per item right? There may be another item that is selling for 5 ISK in your system, and someone is buying for 7 a jump or two away. Only 2 isk profit per item, but if you can hold hundreds of them in your cargo, then you can make 300-500 ISK profit in one cargo-run. See what I mean by selling your cargo space?
* Five: Lastly, with trade, you must, absolutely must be careful about this. There are taxes in EVE, so don’t buy an item worth 59.8 ISK, and expect to sell it for 59.9 and make a profit, you’ll loose money because of taxes. Make sure that you have at least a 10% margin between sell and buy prices to begin with. Once you get better, you should be able to trade tighter margins, and still come out with a profit.

Step 3 The Undercut

Now you should have a large quantity of material bought at a low unit price. Going back to step 1, we noted the cheapest price and quantity of the material. For the Ruko Fibre example at 600 unit price.

Since you bought your materials at a much lower unit price you can easily undercut the competition at the top of the results, when displayed by price. You only have to be at the top of the list, so do not undercut by a large margin.
